These are some amazing housewarming gifts you have collected to share with your blog readers. I need to buy a few of them like the servings trays and coasters to go with the decor the new home owners have chosen. I have bookmarked your website for easy access and shared on social media.

I’m not sure what I was expecting when I checked out your article. But what I found was a treasure-trove of wonderful gift ideas, and I could purchase them without going anywhere else! I bookmarked your page to come back later and do some serious Christmas shopping.

Your store is well laid out. A lot of online retailers could learn a lot from you!

The only very tiny issue I had, (I got over it right away) was the pop-up that came up asking me to sign up for a newsletter. It came up so fast, I hadn’t even looked around. The brand name on the newsletter didn’t match anything I saw, so I declined If I knew it was your newsletter, I would have signed up if it had popped up later on my journey through your store. So perhaps delay it’s pop-up, Otherwise, I am very impressed and I will be back to shop!

Keep up the great work, and Thrive!

    Al

I love the cotton rope baskets, have a few of those myself.  They work for so many different purposes, so I love them!  My son is moving into his own place, and I know that he will need a couple of these for laundry and dog  toys specifically 🙂  They will work great.  Thanks for the Christmas idea!

    • Alyce says:

Hi Leahrae, Those cotton rope baskets are always so handy and make great gifts! Now that you mention it, after getting our dog a subscription to Bark Box, we may need another rope basket to contain all of her new toys! 😉

Home warming gifts are a great way, in my opinion, to help persons to acquire what they need, these gifts will help that special one in so many ways! While some may not immediately notice the need for these gifts, they are indeed a great help and I will encourage persons to get involved in this type of gift giving. Thanks for sharing.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Norman, My last move into a new home is recent enough to remember quite vividly, and thoughtful gifts like these were definitely most welcome. No matter how much one plans for a big move, there will always be many surprise visits to the store for essentials. These thoughtful gifts may help bring smiles to someone who is otherwise quite stressed by their move!

I was looking for a housewarming gift for a friend when I came across this post.  The thing I really, really love about this is the range of traditional, funny, useful and practical gifts I see here.  I think that anyone could find a great housewarming gift for any family from this list!  I have decided to get them the Hypnocube Animated Light Sculpture.  What a unique gift!  I think I’ll buy myself the hummingbird swing as well.  Thank you for posting this!

    • Alyce says:

Hi Cynthia, I think you’re going to love the unique and beautiful lighting from the Hypnocube Animated Light Sculpture – the mesmerizing light show is an excellent choice whether you keep it for yourself or gift it to someone special!

There were many great ideas on your list.  I particularly like the idea of the small step stool. I have one that is very similar and I use it all the time.  The olive oil looks amazing as well and I’m considering trying it out for myself.  I personally would steer away from the smart devices, just because for me personally I like to keep all of them in one system and they may not match up, but for most people, it is probably not an issue.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Mike, Even the tallest people in our home need a step stool on occasion – they are definitely helpful items in our home!

Very helpful to find this article on housewarming gifts. I’m actually shopping for other occasions but have found that these items are good gift choices for most any occasion. Lots of very cool items that also seem like they would be welcome around the house (I’d like to receive these as gifts anyway – lol).

Thanks again for the versatile list of host gifts.

  8. Harry says:

I’m in the holiday mode of shopping now and I see a lot of great holiday gift ideas on this list. Items for the home can be a very thoughtful gift and I like the variety of options you have shared. The foo dogs are cool looking and supposed to bring fortune and protection – what a fun gift idea for my best friend who is crazy hard to shop for!

  9. Saint says:

Thanks for sharing about the host and hostess gift selection, have been terrible when it comes to chosen gift for hosts, most of the time I spend hours in the store not knowing what to choose from, reading this give me a lot of ideas on whta to buy for host and hostess the next time I am visiting.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Saint, It is certainly easy to overthink picking outa gift — and when you multiply that by your whole gift list it can feel like a lot to do! I am glad that you quickly found some suitable housewarming gift options!!

Cool ideas for the best housewarming gifts. I’ve always found it a bit difficult to know what to get for new homeowners.. or how much is appropriate to spend. Usually I just have gone with a decent bottle of red wine or something similar. I liked the copper hummingbird swing on  your list of best housewarming gifts because I love birds and that is pretty interesting idea. Next time I think I might give one of those with my usual gift. Have a good one.

    • Alyce says:

Hi riverdogg, I’ve always been fascinated by the wildlife that lives around an area, and as a homeowner, I love to make sure I create a space where the beautiful creatures have a welcome place to visit. The copper hummingbird swing gift is pretty to look at even when there aren’t any swinging birds! 🙂

Thank you so much for sharing these amazing gift ideas! I love the wine markers the most. Every party I cannot seem to find my glasses and I do not want my friends to bust out a fresh one. Win win for me, a perfect gift that I can use for the future lol. The croc serving tray is also very unique, I love that. Will totally check them out . Thanks again!

    • Alyce says:

The writable / washable glass pens are very handy — both for marking your wine glass and for other labeling projects as well!

  12. Michel says:

We are in the process of moving to a new house and are planning a housewarming. Unfortunately, most people bring quite useless gifts with good intentions. I would be happy to get plants for the garden, as we have enough stuff for the house, coming out of a big house already.

I must admit though the bottle of olive oil would be welcomed, as well as the wine glasses and the match holder. Maybe I should send this post along with the invitation so that people can get an idea what to buy.

    Thanks for these inspiring ideas.

    • Alyce says:

I agree that plants are always welcome gifts at my house, but even those can be tricky to choose well (do the homeowners have pets and are the plants poisonous to them?, is there enough light for the plant?, etc). Sending along some ideas or creating a wishlist of items is a great way to make sure that you get something that you do really need for your home!

  13. Wayne says:

There are a lot of great ideas here and many would be suitable as gifts for other occasions as well.

I’m thinking of a young couple that is getting married in the near future and will be setting up their first home together. I think several of these would be great decorative choices for their new home.

Those agate costers look pretty cool. Nice colour and a great gift for house warming.  Even the young couple I mentioned would probably appreciate these.  I know for a fact that she likes blue so these would be perfect.  I think they would like that Hypnocube as well.  I would like the cube.

The wine glass markers would be a great idea for any party.  Lessens the chance of losing my drink.

Great ideas that I think anyone would like in their home.

    I want the cube 🙂

    Wayne

    • Alyce says:

Hi Wayne, That cube is definitely a cool looking piece of art, so it makes a great gift for the house (either for yourself, or someone else!).

  14. Johnny M says:

I think as a guest at any house party you should always bring a bottle or two, wine, champagne, whatever the occasion calls for. As for the actual house warming gift, I always like to go for something I know the new homeowners would love, but would probably never buy for themselves. Of course it’s going to depend on their tastes, but some really fancy wine glasses, or maybe a cocktail bar set. An ice cream maker perhaps? The sky’s the limit, and you’ve got a lot of good things on your list already.

    Cheers 😉

This is interesting and i have some new ideas for gifts i would be getting my friend who hosts me during this holiday.

Frank is a tech guy and it would be amazing the reactions he would get for Video Doorbell w/ HD Video, 2-way Audio, & Motion Activated Alerts as i love it and would be getting one for myself also.

These are all great products you have picked out and would make for great indoor decor

  16. Mike says:

    Brilliant!!

I’m so bad at choosing gifts so this is exactly what I needed.

    Extra Virgin Olive Oil!!

It was so obvious all along but everyone wants that… but nobody needs it!

And the nano towels is literally genius. Do you have a favourite in the list?

I’ve added them to the list for next time. Thanks so much

    • Alyce says:

Hi Mike, I have many favorites on the list!  The Streamlight Flashlight, plug-in dimmer, video doorbell are just a few of my personal favorites.

  17. Happier At Home says:

    Hi, Alyce!

What a fun thing to research and write about!  I am amazed at the things we have access to – at our fingertips.  These are all great ideas for gifts!  Anyone searching for the perfect gift is surely able to choose something from the list you’re providing.  Something great for even the hardest to buy for!  You’re right- wine is usually always welcome, but it just doesn’t last.  Why not grab something that lasts a while!
