I am glad to come across your article today as I was thinking about what gift is more suitable for my valentine this coming week. I loved and checked the animated light sculptures displayed. It is amazingly unique and can last a lifetime. There are lots of great ideas in there. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy a great valentine’s.

  2. chinthaka says:

Wow, what a wonderful concept this is. I have heard that just now from your article. And also it is very easy for each and every reader to collect those items on Amazon. So Ā I Ā consider this article as a practical article. Also, readers can get ideal gift ideas through this article. It is so practical and I was able to compare a lot of product variations for the select ideal product. Your presenting style was very valuable for me to get that idea for me.

  3. Jannette says:

These are some amazing housewarming gifts you have collected to share with your blog readers. I need to buy a few of them like the servings trays and coasters to go with the decor the new home owners have chosen. I have bookmarked your website for easy access and shared on social media.Ā

  4. Al Perry says:

I’m not sure what I was expecting when I checked out your article. But what I found was a treasure-trove of wonderful gift ideas, and I could purchase them without going anywhere else! I bookmarked your page to come back later and do some serious Christmas shopping.Ā Ā

Your store is well laid out. A lot of online retailers could learn a lot from you!

The only very tiny issue I had, (I got over it right away) was the pop-up that came up asking me to sign up for a newsletter. It came up so fast, I hadn’t even looked around. The brand name on the newsletter didn’t match anything I saw, so I declined If I knew it was your newsletter, I would have signed up if it had popped up later on my journey through your store. So perhaps delay it’s pop-up, Otherwise, I am very impressed and I will be back to shop!

Keep up the great work, and Thrive!

    Al

  5. Leahrae says:

I love the cotton rope baskets, have a few of those myself.Ā  They work for so many different purposes, so I love them!Ā  My son is moving into his own place, and I know that he will need a couple of these for laundry and dogĀ  toys specifically šŸ™‚Ā  They will work great.Ā  Thanks for the Christmas idea!

    • Alyce says:

Hi Leahrae, Those cotton rope basketsĀ are always so handy and make great gifts! Now that you mention it, after getting our dog a subscription to Bark Box, we may need another rope basket to contain all of herĀ new toys! šŸ˜‰

  6. Norman says:

Home warming gifts are a great way, in my opinion, to help persons to acquire what they need, these gifts will help that special one in so many ways! While some may not immediately noticeĀ the need for these gifts, they are indeed a great help and I will encourage persons to get involved in this type of gift giving. Thanks for sharing.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Norman, My last move into a new home is recent enough to remember quite vividly, and thoughtful gifts like these were definitely mostĀ welcome. No matter how much one plans for a big move, there will always be many surprise visits to the store for essentials. These thoughtful gifts may help bring smiles to someone who isĀ otherwise quite stressed by their move!

  7. Cynthia says:

IĀ was looking for a housewarming gift for a friend when I came across this post.Ā  The thing IĀ really, really love about this is the range of traditional, funny, useful and practical gifts I see here.Ā  I think that anyone could find a great housewarming gift for any family from this list!Ā Ā I have decided to get them the Hypnocube Animated Light Sculpture.Ā  What a unique gift!Ā  I think I’ll buy myself the hummingbird swing as well.Ā  Thank you for posting this!

    • Alyce says:

Hi Cynthia, I think you’re going toĀ love the unique and beautiful lighting from the Hypnocube Animated Light Sculpture – the mesmerizing light show is an excellent choice whether you keep it for yourself or gift it to someone special!

  8. Mike Yardley says:

There were many great ideas on your list.Ā  I particularly like the idea of the small step stool. I have one that is very similar and I use it all the time.Ā  The olive oil looks amazing as well and I’m considering trying it out for myself.Ā  I personally would steer away from the smart devices, just because for me personally I like to keep all of them in one system and they may not match up, but for most people, it is probably not an issue.Ā

    • Alyce says:

Hi Mike, Even the tallest people in our home need a step stool on occasion – they areĀ definitely helpful items in our home!Ā

  9. Josh says:

Very helpful to find this article on housewarming gifts. I’m actually shopping for other occasions but have found that these items are good gift choices for most any occasion. Lots ofĀ very cool items that also seem like they would be welcome around the house (I’d like to receive these as gifts anyway – lol).

Thanks again for the versatile list of hostĀ gifts.Ā

  10. Harry says:

I’m in the holiday mode of shopping now and I see a lot of great holiday gift ideas on this list. Items for the homeĀ can be a very thoughtful gift and I like the variety of options you have shared. The foo dogs are cool looking andĀ supposed to bring fortune and protection – what a fun gift idea for my best friend who is crazy hard to shop for!

  11. Saint says:

Thanks for sharing about the host and hostess gift selection, have been terrible when it comes to chosen gift for hosts, most of the time I spend hours in the store not knowing what to choose from, reading this give me a lot of ideas on whta to buy for host and hostess the next time I am visiting.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Saint, It is certainly easy to overthink picking outa gift — and when you multiply that by your whole gift list it can feel like a lot to do! I am glad that you quickly found some suitable housewarming gift options!!

  12. riverdogg says:

Cool ideas for the best housewarming gifts. I’ve always found it a bit difficult to know what to get for new homeowners.. or how much is appropriate to spend. Usually I just have gone with a decent bottle of red wine or something similar. I liked the copper hummingbird swing onĀ  your list of best housewarming gifts because I love birds and that is pretty interesting idea. Next time I think I might give one of those with my usual gift. Have a good one.

    • Alyce says:

Hi riverdogg, I’ve always been fascinated by the wildlife that lives around an area, and as a homeowner, I love to make sure I create a space whereĀ theĀ beautiful creatures have a welcome place to visit. The copper hummingbird swing gift is pretty to look at even when there aren’t any swinging birds! šŸ™‚

  13. Nuttanee says:

Thank you so much for sharing these amazing gift ideas! I love the wine markers the most. Every party I cannot seem to find my glasses and I do not want my friends to bust out a fresh one. Win win for me, a perfect gift that I can use for the future lol. The croc serving tray is also very unique, I love that. Will totally check them out . Thanks again!

    • Alyce says:

The writable / washable glass pens are very handy — both for marking your wine glass and for other labeling projects as well!

  14. Michel says:

We are in the process of moving to a new house and are planning a housewarming. Unfortunately, most people bring quite useless gifts with good intentions. I would be happy to get plants for the garden, as we have enough stuff for the house, coming out of a big house already.

I must admit though the bottle of olive oil would be welcomed, as well as the wine glasses and the match holder. Maybe I should send this post along with the invitation so that people can get an idea what to buy.

    Thanks for these inspiring ideas.

    • Alyce says:

I agree that plants are always welcome gifts at my house, but even those can be tricky to choose well (do the homeowners have pets and are the plants poisonous to them?, is there enough light for the plant?, etc). Sending along some ideas or creating a wishlist of items is a great way to make sure that you get something that you do really need for your home!

  15. Wayne says:

There are a lot of great ideas here and many would be suitable as gifts for other occasions as well.

I’m thinking of a young couple that is getting married in the near future and will be setting up their first home together. I think several of these would be great decorative choices for their new home.

Those agate costers look pretty cool. Nice colour and a great gift for house warming.Ā  Even the young couple I mentioned would probably appreciate these.Ā  I know for a fact that she likes blue so these would be perfect.Ā  I think they would likeĀ that Hypnocube as well.Ā  I would like the cube.

The wine glass markers would be a great idea for any party.Ā  Lessens the chance of losing my drink.

Great ideas that I think anyone would like in their home.

    I want the cube šŸ™‚

    WayneĀ

    • Alyce says:

Hi Wayne, That cube is definitely a cool looking piece of art, so it makes a great gift for the house (either for yourself, or someone else!).

  16. Johnny M says:

I think as a guest at any house party you should always bring a bottle or two, wine, champagne, whatever the occasion calls for. As for the actual house warming gift, I always like to go for something I know the new homeowners would love, but would probably never buy for themselves. Of course it’s going to depend on their tastes, but some really fancy wine glasses, or maybe a cocktail bar set. An ice cream maker perhaps? The sky’s the limit, and you’ve got a lot of good things on your list already.

    Cheers šŸ˜‰

  17. affiliate_ghost says:

This is interesting and i have some new ideas for gifts i would be getting my friend who hosts me during this holiday.Ā

Frank is a tech guy and it would be amazing the reactions he would get for Video Doorbell w/ HD Video, 2-way Audio, & Motion Activated Alerts as i love it and would be getting one for myself also.

These are all great products you have picked out and would make for great indoor decor

  18. Mike says:

    Brilliant!!Ā

I’m so bad at choosing gifts so this is exactly what I needed.

    Extra Virgin Olive Oil!!

It was so obvious all along but everyone wants that… but nobody needs it!

And the nano towels is literally genius. Do you have a favourite in the list?

I’ve added them to the list for next time. Thanks so much

    • Alyce says:

Hi Mike, I have many favorites on the list!Ā  The Streamlight Flashlight, plug-in dimmer, video doorbell are just a few of my personal favorites.Ā

  19. Happier At Home says:

    Hi, Alyce!

What a fun thing to research and write about!Ā  I am amazed at the things we have access to – at our fingertips.Ā  These are all great ideas for gifts!Ā  Anyone searching for the perfect gift is surely able to choose something from the list you’re providing.Ā  Something great for even the hardest to buy for!Ā  You’re right- wine is usually always welcome, but it just doesn’t last.Ā  Why not grab something that lasts a while!Ā Ā

  20. Ron Mendoza says:

All are great ideas, Alyce.Ā  If someone would give me one of these as a house warming gift, I’d be so happy if I get the Video Doorbell — I’ll install it right away!Ā  It’s nice that you can connect Alexa with it and you can see who’s outside through your mobile device.Ā  The Streamlight ProTac isn’t bad either.Ā

    • Alyce says:

Hi Ron, We actually had a friend give us a Ring Doorbell as a housewarming gift. We were thrilled to get that gift and it’s a very useful thing to help answer the door from anywhere (with 2-way audio) and monitor who visits the house. It’s really cool.Ā

The Streamlight ProTacĀ flashlight is something that we often give as a housewarming gift, and since we also have a few of them at our own house, we know how awesome it is to have a solid flashlight for the times when the power goes out.Ā

  21. Kathleenf1 says:

    Wow, your website is awesome!

I love the list of hostess and host gifts! It shows hours and hours of dedicated searching on your part, to find just the right item. You have done work for the customer, and lay out the choices in a easy stylish format.

I like everything you chose, Such nice gifts to say thank you withĀ

    šŸ™‚

  22. Chloe says:

A nice array if gift items I must say. I have always been the wine and champagne gift guy. SomeĀ  tikes I find it really difficult to think of a particular gift fir someone. These are certainly the nicest list if gift I have come across. And the price’s are very friendly. I’ll go for the 5 set wine glass markersĀ for my next gift to he given out. Nice being here.

    • Alyce says:

Those wine glassĀ marker pens are such a fun idea… plus it’s nice if you want to write a temporary message on other glass around your home for a special occasionĀ (holidays, congratulations, birthdays, etc).Ā

  23. George says:

Hi Alyce. A really nice set of housewarming gifts. I really like quite a lot of them. I like the Guardian Lion Statues because in my house I have something similar but with monkeys (3 monkeys one with closed ears, another with closed eyes, and the third one with closed mouth).

The Remote Control Light Switches will certainly be a great to give (or be given) as a gift. Everyone likes remote controlling things and in this case where it’s practical it’s all the more reason to have.

Well who won’t like the Hypnocube as a gift. From the image with the ratings and the reviews, I guess almost noone!

I’m really happy I to have come across your article. I might revisit later to see if any more gift candidates were added!. Have a nice day.

    • Alyce says:

I am definitely a fan of products that can make my life easier or add a bit of flair… the remotes have been super useful in my house and cool art (statues or changing light displays) are also high on my list for making a house feel like home! šŸ™‚

  24. patriciawwell says:

Thank you for sharing wonderful gift ideas. I am very glad about having this article. I was searching for a good house warming gift for my sister. Your gift ideas help me a lot in choosing my ideal gift for my sister. I want to gift a customized pillow cover for my sister. I hope she likes it. Thank you again!

    • Alyce says:

I was given a similar personalized gift by a friend and I found it to be a very thoughtful gift. I hope your sister also enjoys her housewarming gift!

  25. SeunJeremiah says:

Thanks for this informative article,Ā  finding a gift could be a difficult task most especially for someone like me who finds it difficult to pick the perfect gift for a special person, this post is going to be of good advantage to me as you’ve brought me so many gift varieties. Much appreciated.Ā

  26. jessetoikkanen says:

A great article and your site look amazing! šŸ™‚ Simple, short but informative enough details and descriptions about gift ideas. I prefer this style to preview those gifts and products rather than very long and complicated stories.Ā Smart Wifi Plug with Alexa looks great, IĀ will take a further look for it, seems to be pretty cheap as well.Ā

    • Alyce says:

Thanks so much! I’m glad you appreciate the format that gives a short gift description, but an easy to click link for anyone who wants to learn more about any of the gift ideas!

  27. Nazmun Nahar says:

Wow, amazing housewarming gift ideas. Sometimes, it is hard to find out the perfect gift for either host or it could be for the hostess. We have holiday end party in one of our friend house next week. I was thinking about what gift should buy for them. It should be unique with reasonable price. I love all of your ideas. But especially I liked remote control wireless light switch . I think they gonna love this gift item. Thank you so much.

    • Alyce says:

Those remotes have been very well received when I’ve given them out as gifts… it’s something that a person just doesn’t know how much they will appreciate until they have been able to enjoy it in their home!

  28. Richard Brennan says:

I like some of these gift ideas.

Certainly more original than a bottle of wine, but as you rightly say, that is always welcome!

I chuckled when I saw the wine glass markers – I never let my glass out of my sight, or even out of my hand!

Someone bought us a pair of Foo Dogs / Beijing Lions when we moved into our new house and 3 moves later, they still take pride of place.Ā

There’s a sort of spirituality with anything like that, I feel. As such, I think that anything along that particular line is a great gift to give someone for a special occasion such as a housewarming, marriage, or a new baby, etc. We like to give and to receive gifts like that and they always seem to create a warm, feel-good factor for both the giver and the receiver.

We had some Chinese pictures given to us, rosewood inlaid with mother of pearl, depicting ā€˜The Coming Of Success’ and they’re beautiful.

There’s definitely some inspired and original ideas here.

    • Alyce says:

Haha, you are smart to keep your hands on your wine glass! šŸ™‚Ā

I’ll have to look up ā€œThe Coming of Successā€ pictures. It sounds very nice!!

  29. Christine says:

I was looking for a house warming gift for my brother who is moving to his new home next month. I’m glad I landed on your site. You have interesting gift ideas.
I like the Hypnocube Animated Light Sculpture. I think my brother will love this.
Thank you for sharing your ideas.

  30. Sharon says:

Gift-giving can be challenging at times. It is rather personal as not everyone likes the same item. Anyways, you have a good and large collection here. The one that caught my attention is the Pair of Fu Dogs. This is most appropriate for a Chinese family. A friend of mine just moved into her new home. Although a Housewarming party is not planned, perhaps later, I will very likely be buying this for her when visiting. Thanks for your ideas!

    • Alyce says:

It is very thoughtful of you to consider your friends in their new home and what kind of giftĀ they might most enjoy. I know a number of people who would really love to receive a pair ofĀ Fu Dog statues as both a symbol of protection for the homeĀ and as a reminder of great friendships.Ā

  31. Ronald Otochi says:

I found you article at the perfect time, I need to buy a gift but am not really good at getting people gifts. Right now am thinking the fu dogs or theĀ Frida Kahlo Secular Saint Candle. Overall nice article & I love how you put an add of each item after the description. One question I did have was can someone set up a registry for house warming gifts?

    • Alyce says:

Amazon does allow people to set up registries. To set this up for a housewarming, simply create a ā€œwish listā€ and make sure it’s set to ā€œpublicā€ so that your friends and family are able to see your list when you share it!

  32. Peter says:

I love your website and this post. You are 10)% correct about the wine. Sometimes you feel guilty handing it over as a housewarming present because you have been too lazy to think of anything more practical. Cue – don’t look them in the eye when you hand it over.

I am a firm believer in the older you get the more practical the presents you actually want, so the 2 step folding ladder, or the Patio Bar/Cooler are stand outs for me.

Don’t get me wrong, I like getting the wine also, however it lasts the night, the tangible practical gift will provide more sentimentality.Ā

    • Alyce says:

I totally agree Peter! Wine is always a welcome gift at my house… it will never go to waste. However, other gifts definitely seem to last a bit longer. šŸ™‚Ā  In the end, I’m happy just to see my friends in my home, no matter if they arrive on their own or bearing gifts. I believe that my group of friends all feel the same way too, but if I can help it, I like to take a littleĀ something special to treat my friends when they are hosting.Ā

  33. C says:

Thank you for these great gift ideas. I think all of these gift ideas are aĀ very good idea. I like the guardian lions, that will be really Nifty especially if they don’t already have any statues to decorate the front of their house. My second favorite would probably be the olive oil, and my third favorite would be the Nano towels.Ā

Throw blankets are always nice, I usually get one as a gift every year but I’m not sure everyone does that. So it’s a good chance that they will appreciate a throw blanket. The Hypno Cube looks really cool. Thanks for all these great suggestions. I like the style of your articles.

  34. Dennis says:

    What an excellent site!

Thank you for this article. I find that getting gifts for anyone at any time is a challenge. Usually when I shop for someone I think ā€œWhat a great ideaā€ at the time of purchasing the gift. Then when they unwrap it I’m thinking ā€œWhat was I thinking..?!?ā€

You have some great ideas for presents and as I find gift shopping challenging to say the least, I will be back often!

Oh! This is excellent and it contains some of the best household needs ranging from appliances to normal house needs and this makes this a worthy read for me. A colleague at work just moved to a new apartment to which I would be going with them to stay a couple of days and as such, I dont want to be a bad guest by not taking anything along. You’ve given some nice suggestions and like they said, little things make the difference. I will pick a couple of these along. Thanks

This is a very great lost you have put up here. I’m glad I was avke to go through everything here. Its is true that a wine is a good gift but what happens when you and your host drinks it all while you’re still there? That’s why its most advisable to get something that’s not edible and having checked this list, they aren’t so expensive and There’s a saying that the little things aew moat appreciated. Your list is overwhelming and I might have to pick so much because this ideas are great, thank you!

I agree. Wine is always a welcome gift but it never seems to last long when you’re hosting friends and family. I suppose that is the point… Ā but it’s also nice to share something that the host will be able to use for a while longer too.Ā
