Other Empty Beauty Container Recycling Programs

It’s still a great idea to recycle empty containers — even if you won’t be incentivized to do so. Here are programs that help you to recycle unwanted and empty items.

Empty Bottles for Recycling

Wands For Wildlife

Your old mascara wands can help wildlife when used to remove fly eggs and larvae from the fur of animals (they work great because the bristles are so close together). Wand donations are accepted only during annual drives.

Other Non-Empty Beauty Product Donation Programs

We all share the experience of trying out a new product, but for whatever reason, it just doesn’t work out. I’ve had this happen with just about every product type out there (shampoo, makeup, nail polish, moisturizer, etc). While it’s great to sample the latest and greatest products, it stinks to feel wasteful when you don’t finish the bottle!

Awesome buddy, we mostly fail to take care of our surroundings in different ways. We must monitor what we throw out there to keep our environment clean. We must practice how to put old products for reuse. I am really support the recycling award idea, this will for sure encourage people to participate well.

Thank you for this informative post.

What a great idea and sharing great ways to keep products out of Landfill.
Being In Australia I shall certainly look at this further being an advocate of recycling where possible.

Being rewarded should not be necessary however it will provide that extra incentive to participate In
    the program.

Our resources are scarce and costs hhigh and this will go a long way to helping both.

    Great informative information.

While it’s true that we shouldn’t need to be rewarded for doing a good thing like recycling, it’s always a nice bonus anyway. 🙂 Thanks for checking out the list and following up on recycling resources in your local area!!

Amazing, innovative and informative article. You have shared a great idea to save money as well as help the environment. Bareminerals can really be useful. Also good to know about the different programs about recycling these kind of  different products. Especially the Everyday Minerals, Herbal Essence. Earning 5 FAB for every single empty container is a good way of motivating people to use this program. I will be sharing this website with my sisters and mother also ask them to share it with all of their social media accounts.

    • Alyce says:

Thanks so much for sharing the post with your friends and family – when enough people start to recycle regularly, hopefully we will all be able to enjoy a cleaner world!

  6. Rodarrick says:

This actually seems very interesting to me since I am a big fan of doing the little things and getting rewards from them. I love the fact that I can recycle my unused items and get paid for them. Another thing is the fact that most empty containers are considered useless before but seeing that I can make quite a lot from them, I see this as a very good offer. Thanks

    • Alyce says:

Hi Rodarrick, I agree that it makes good sense to recycle these items and get rewarded for the effort too!

  7. Monalisha says:

    Hello,

There are many such bottles or quota in my house. I’ll definitely put them on the counter. But this recycling process is not available in many countries, it can be made much easier in the world if it is launched in all countries. This is a good initiative. We all need to know about the recycling process.

Thank you for giving such a good idea.

    • Alyce says:

Even in the US, there is a lot of room for improvement. It’s great that these brands are leading the way with their own recycling programs.

  8. Hossen says:

    Hi there!

This is a really awesome idea. There are 2 ways to recycle our used Burt’s Bees containers Knowing this made me wonder. And I can get rewards by recycling it. I think this is a good initiative to protect the environment. I will share this information with my friends. You really wrote well about the topic of recycling.

    Thank you.

    • Alyce says:

Thank you for sharing! Hopefully it encourages more companies to start their own recycling programs!

    Hello,

We often pollute our surroundings in different ways.We must monitor our surroundings to keep our environment good. We must know how we can put old products on the counters for our benefit. I am really pleased that the recycling award is available.

After reading the article I got a clear idea about this.

Thank you for writing a helpful post.

    wow!!

Amazing and innovative idea you have shared. the bareminerals are really can be so useful. Also good to know about the different programs about recycling these kind of products. specially the Everyday Minrals, Herbal Essence I liked most. Surely these programs will help to make a healthy environment. Recycling is needed not only of these products but also every good we use like cloths, garbages, wirings and our daily utensils are needed to be recycled.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Touhid, I’m currently working on a post about recycling clothing and shoes! There are a lot of companies that offer incentives to recycle the clothing you no longer use. Stay tuned!

  11. Stella says:

This is great opportunity for people to get reward for their impact to the environment. If this method can be adopted all over everywhere in the world, we won’t live to see the end of the world. Our day to day activities and waste plastic and nylon disposer are responsible for the awful condition our climates are facing. It is so amazing to see different companies that have the love of our climates and environment at heart  Thanks for this awareness. I will also make this known to my friends.

  12. Alam says:

    Hi there!
So amazing and informative article. You have shared a nice idea to save money as well as the environment. The idea about recycling the beauty products is so nice. And also earning 5 FAB for every single empty container is innovative. Hope you to creat such ideas to help people to make themselves as well as the environment healthy.

  13. Ray says:

Although I am male and don’t use these products, it’s great to see that these options for recycling are out there.

I have to admit I was a hard sell when it came to separating items into recyclable, waste, or just garbage. This is what happens when one has spent most of his life just throwing everything in to a big metal container to be dumped into a landfill.

Once I started taking more care with separating everything it became second nature. I even started saving all cans, bottles, and milk containers, and most months will earn about $7-$8 and treat myself to a Starbucks coffee and treat for doing my part in recycling.

Great to see you writing about this important topic and I’m sure there are many women out there who will be very interested in what you have to say.-

    • Alyce says:

Hi Ray, even men need to take care of their skin and hair, but I understand that these aren’t brands that you use. Stay tuned for an article coming tomorrow about where to recycle clothing items (including jeans) for rewards!

  14. My Daily Pointers says:

OMG!  How have I not known about all these things before?  And thank you for the reminder about MAC cosmetics – they are my favorite brand of cosmetics and because, I will admit, I can be a bit of a hoarder, I had been storing all the empty eyeshadow containers!  Now I can get a free lipstick!  I might actually begin purchasing from some of the other companies like Occitane because of the ability to recycle.  GO GREEN!

    • Alyce says:

Haha… I can also be guilty of hoarding beauty products. 😁 Thankfully these brands give me a good reason to turn them in for recycling!!

  15. Nuttanee says:

It is good to know that the cosmetic industry is stepping up their game and take it seriously with recycling. I am not aware of that until now. All I did was just to put it as recycling item and that was that. In NYC, you see people going around on recycling day to collect all the bottles to sell and that makes me wonder about all the cosmetic products that we use. Thank you for sharing this information, I will make sure to share this to all my friends. 🙂

    • Alyce says:

Living in NYC on trash day will definitely open your eyes about how much waste is produced every week!! It’s great to think that there are easy ways to reduce the burden on the planet and be rewarded for doing so. Thanks so much for reading and sharing!

  16. Gomer says:

We have too many of these bottles here in our house because my mother intentionally gathered them for selling to recyclers. Besides, our local government is active in segregating garbage by separating the recyclable and the biodegradable. But I understand that not all place in the world have this kind of program so this list of companies you have shared can help or at least give people ideas on how to recycle their beauty containers. You guys are very fortunate there in the United States as you can collect these items and have them shipped to proper handlers.

    • Alyce says:

The recycling programs near my home are pretty hit or miss. There is no curbside recycling, so many items that could be recycled will end up in the trash and in the landfill. These programs are great since they give people an incentive to do the right thing and recycle their waste!

  17. Suzy says:

Wow, what an informative and helpful site.

I bet this took a long time to put together. It’s so helpful for those of us looking to save money any place that we can.

I especially enjoyed reading about the Bengal Cat. I learned about them and now I would like to get one. After just losing my cat that was so special to me, this breed sounds perfect for me. I will be looking into this thanks to your information.

I will be bookmarking your site for future reference and savings.

Thanks for all the great information!

    • Alyce says:

Hi Suzy, It’s great that you could find some ways to save money or get extra bonuses when you shop!

As for Bengal cats, mine has been great! She is full of personally and a great addition to our household!
