All are great ideas, Alyce.  If someone would give me one of these as a house warming gift, I’d be so happy if I get the Video Doorbell — I’ll install it right away!  It’s nice that you can connect Alexa with it and you can see who’s outside through your mobile device.  The Streamlight ProTac isn’t bad either.

Hi Ron, We actually had a friend give us a Ring Doorbell as a housewarming gift. We were thrilled to get that gift and it’s a very useful thing to help answer the door from anywhere (with 2-way audio) and monitor who visits the house. It’s really cool.

The Streamlight ProTac flashlight is something that we often give as a housewarming gift, and since we also have a few of them at our own house, we know how awesome it is to have a solid flashlight for the times when the power goes out.

    Wow, your website is awesome!

I love the list of hostess and host gifts! It shows hours and hours of dedicated searching on your part, to find just the right item. You have done work for the customer, and lay out the choices in a easy stylish format.

I like everything you chose, Such nice gifts to say thank you with

    🙂

A nice array if gift items I must say. I have always been the wine and champagne gift guy. Some  tikes I find it really difficult to think of a particular gift fir someone. These are certainly the nicest list if gift I have come across. And the price’s are very friendly. I’ll go for the 5 set wine glass markers for my next gift to he given out. Nice being here.

    • Alyce says:

Those wine glass marker pens are such a fun idea… plus it’s nice if you want to write a temporary message on other glass around your home for a special occasion (holidays, congratulations, birthdays, etc).

Hi Alyce. A really nice set of housewarming gifts. I really like quite a lot of them. I like the Guardian Lion Statues because in my house I have something similar but with monkeys (3 monkeys one with closed ears, another with closed eyes, and the third one with closed mouth).

The Remote Control Light Switches will certainly be a great to give (or be given) as a gift. Everyone likes remote controlling things and in this case where it’s practical it’s all the more reason to have.

Well who won’t like the Hypnocube as a gift. From the image with the ratings and the reviews, I guess almost noone!

I’m really happy I to have come across your article. I might revisit later to see if any more gift candidates were added!. Have a nice day.

    • Alyce says:

I am definitely a fan of products that can make my life easier or add a bit of flair… the remotes have been super useful in my house and cool art (statues or changing light displays) are also high on my list for making a house feel like home! 🙂

Thank you for sharing wonderful gift ideas. I am very glad about having this article. I was searching for a good house warming gift for my sister. Your gift ideas help me a lot in choosing my ideal gift for my sister. I want to gift a customized pillow cover for my sister. I hope she likes it. Thank you again!

    • Alyce says:

I was given a similar personalized gift by a friend and I found it to be a very thoughtful gift. I hope your sister also enjoys her housewarming gift!

  6. SeunJeremiah says:

Thanks for this informative article,  finding a gift could be a difficult task most especially for someone like me who finds it difficult to pick the perfect gift for a special person, this post is going to be of good advantage to me as you’ve brought me so many gift varieties. Much appreciated.

A great article and your site look amazing! 🙂 Simple, short but informative enough details and descriptions about gift ideas. I prefer this style to preview those gifts and products rather than very long and complicated stories. Smart Wifi Plug with Alexa looks great, I will take a further look for it, seems to be pretty cheap as well.

    • Alyce says:

Thanks so much! I’m glad you appreciate the format that gives a short gift description, but an easy to click link for anyone who wants to learn more about any of the gift ideas!

  8. Nazmun Nahar says:

Wow, amazing housewarming gift ideas. Sometimes, it is hard to find out the perfect gift for either host or it could be for the hostess. We have holiday end party in one of our friend house next week. I was thinking about what gift should buy for them. It should be unique with reasonable price. I love all of your ideas. But especially I liked remote control wireless light switch . I think they gonna love this gift item. Thank you so much.

    • Alyce says:

Those remotes have been very well received when I’ve given them out as gifts… it’s something that a person just doesn’t know how much they will appreciate until they have been able to enjoy it in their home!

  9. Richard Brennan says:

I like some of these gift ideas.

Certainly more original than a bottle of wine, but as you rightly say, that is always welcome!

I chuckled when I saw the wine glass markers – I never let my glass out of my sight, or even out of my hand!

Someone bought us a pair of Foo Dogs / Beijing Lions when we moved into our new house and 3 moves later, they still take pride of place.

There’s a sort of spirituality with anything like that, I feel. As such, I think that anything along that particular line is a great gift to give someone for a special occasion such as a housewarming, marriage, or a new baby, etc. We like to give and to receive gifts like that and they always seem to create a warm, feel-good factor for both the giver and the receiver.

We had some Chinese pictures given to us, rosewood inlaid with mother of pearl, depicting ‘The Coming Of Success’ and they’re beautiful.

There’s definitely some inspired and original ideas here.

    • Alyce says:

Haha, you are smart to keep your hands on your wine glass! 🙂

I’ll have to look up “The Coming of Success” pictures. It sounds very nice!!

I was looking for a house warming gift for my brother who is moving to his new home next month. I’m glad I landed on your site. You have interesting gift ideas.
I like the Hypnocube Animated Light Sculpture. I think my brother will love this.
Thank you for sharing your ideas.

  11. Sharon says:

Gift-giving can be challenging at times. It is rather personal as not everyone likes the same item. Anyways, you have a good and large collection here. The one that caught my attention is the Pair of Fu Dogs. This is most appropriate for a Chinese family. A friend of mine just moved into her new home. Although a Housewarming party is not planned, perhaps later, I will very likely be buying this for her when visiting. Thanks for your ideas!

    • Alyce says:

It is very thoughtful of you to consider your friends in their new home and what kind of gift they might most enjoy. I know a number of people who would really love to receive a pair of Fu Dog statues as both a symbol of protection for the home and as a reminder of great friendships.

  12. Ronald Otochi says:

I found you article at the perfect time, I need to buy a gift but am not really good at getting people gifts. Right now am thinking the fu dogs or the Frida Kahlo Secular Saint Candle. Overall nice article & I love how you put an add of each item after the description. One question I did have was can someone set up a registry for house warming gifts?

    • Alyce says:

Amazon does allow people to set up registries. To set this up for a housewarming, simply create a “wish list” and make sure it’s set to “public” so that your friends and family are able to see your list when you share it!

  13. Peter says:

I love your website and this post. You are 10)% correct about the wine. Sometimes you feel guilty handing it over as a housewarming present because you have been too lazy to think of anything more practical. Cue – don’t look them in the eye when you hand it over.

I am a firm believer in the older you get the more practical the presents you actually want, so the 2 step folding ladder, or the Patio Bar/Cooler are stand outs for me.

Don’t get me wrong, I like getting the wine also, however it lasts the night, the tangible practical gift will provide more sentimentality.

    • Alyce says:

I totally agree Peter! Wine is always a welcome gift at my house… it will never go to waste. However, other gifts definitely seem to last a bit longer. 🙂  In the end, I’m happy just to see my friends in my home, no matter if they arrive on their own or bearing gifts. I believe that my group of friends all feel the same way too, but if I can help it, I like to take a little something special to treat my friends when they are hosting.

  14. C says:

Thank you for these great gift ideas. I think all of these gift ideas are a very good idea. I like the guardian lions, that will be really Nifty especially if they don’t already have any statues to decorate the front of their house. My second favorite would probably be the olive oil, and my third favorite would be the Nano towels.

Throw blankets are always nice, I usually get one as a gift every year but I’m not sure everyone does that. So it’s a good chance that they will appreciate a throw blanket. The Hypno Cube looks really cool. Thanks for all these great suggestions. I like the style of your articles.

  15. Dennis says:

    What an excellent site!

Thank you for this article. I find that getting gifts for anyone at any time is a challenge. Usually when I shop for someone I think “What a great idea” at the time of purchasing the gift. Then when they unwrap it I’m thinking “What was I thinking..?!?”

You have some great ideas for presents and as I find gift shopping challenging to say the least, I will be back often!

    Thank you

    • Alyce says:

Thanks Dennis, I hope the gifts you give in the future are all well received and leave you with no regrets. 😉

  16. Ramos says:

Oh! This is excellent and it contains some of the best household needs ranging from appliances to normal house needs and this makes this a worthy read for me. A colleague at work just moved to a new apartment to which I would be going with them to stay a couple of days and as such, I dont want to be a bad guest by not taking anything along. You’ve given some nice suggestions and like they said, little things make the difference. I will pick a couple of these along. Thanks

  17. Henderson says:

This is a very great lost you have put up here. I’m glad I was avke to go through everything here. Its is true that a wine is a good gift but what happens when you and your host drinks it all while you’re still there? That’s why its most advisable to get something that’s not edible and having checked this list, they aren’t so expensive and There’s a saying that the little things aew moat appreciated. Your list is overwhelming and I might have to pick so much because this ideas are great, thank you!

    • Alyce says:

I agree. Wine is always a welcome gift but it never seems to last long when you’re hosting friends and family. I suppose that is the point…  but it’s also nice to share something that the host will be able to use for a while longer too.
