During their life cycle, our products use less natural resources than alternative packaging for disposable use, from energy and materials used over cleaning and repairs to any recycling. And since they have a better effect on transport, including safe alignment and maintaining their structural rigility, that way offers indirect benefits for the environment. Supplies are less thrown, and it takes less energy and resources to replace damaged supplies.

    Thanks for the contents!

As most of us have experienced recent shortages at the store, we are being forced to look for alternate solutions. Hopefully some of the new habits & products that are better for the environment will last far into the future.

THis is a great site and what a better time then now to start realizing that we need to conserve our resources.  We cannot continuosly go to the store and get things that we will need to replace within a couple of days or a week.  We have to be smarter in protecting our environment and making sure that we look after each other.  All of our actions affect each other.  It all comes down to us being lazy and not wanting to preserve things.  It is easier to throw something away then it is to clean something.  These products are all amazing in turning this tide around.  Thank you for the post.

Hello Alyce, all of a sudden, it feels like my home needs a lot of work to be fine in it. I could see over 5 items that would be really useful for my home and funny enough I never for once thought of them. Take for example the coffee filter and re-useable straw you have mentioned here I use the paper filter at home and aside from the fact that I keep going to the store, it’s slow to use. Great ideas you have here

This is actually a great time saver and money saver. I stock up on some sustainable products as well..not on a toilet paper but I am guilty of buying way to many period stuff and coffee filters. You put so much effort into bringing it all together and making our lives easier. Thank you for that.

Next time I run out of the disposable items I’ll definitely choose these options instead!

    Best, Katya

    • Alyce says:

Thanks Katya, I think you will be enjoy the longevity of these products and also be impressed by their peformance!

In this period, focusing more on buying items that can prevent having to spread out of home is what can help to guarantee that one correctly isolate ourselves from the crowd and all. The spread of the covid19 has warranted an urgent need to truly keep everything and everyone in check around us. Thank you so much for sharing such a great post as this here

    • Alyce says:

Hi Emman, Thanks for being responsible and helping to protect everyone by staying home and using products that don’t need to be replaced.

    Hi, Alyce.
Thanks for sharing your honest review on sustainable products which can be reused again and again. It is an awesome list and also the need of the time. We would have adopted this strategy along back as mother earth was crying and we all ignored her. An article like yours gives a hope that we are going in the right direction, at least now.
    Warm Regards,
    Gaurav Gaur

    • Alyce says:

Hi Gaurav, It is definitely an opportune time to try out sustainable products — both because the single-use products are hard to find at stores and because these products simply make good sense! Thanks for considering these sustainable products for your home and family.

Hi Alyce – This is one of the most useful posts on the internet today…second only to corona virus information.  I must admit that I have always been a little in the dark about the bidet appliance but this post prompted me seek clarification.  All of the suggestions are very useful and I thank you for this information.

It was pretty crazy with the toilet paper.  But good thing, my son is a chef and ordered some from where his company gets their toilet paper. The other suggestion you have is great; getting people into using reusable products is something that should have happened a long time ago. Maybe now we all will learn to make use of our resources.

Having cancer, I don’t make any store trips. We had to stock up on my things, but your list is quite good and has given me new ideas on how to cut down on waste.

    • Alyce says:

Hi jagi, I wish you the best with your cancer treatment and a quick recovery to full health. It’s great that you are able to avoid trips to the store in order to protect your own health.

Migrating to more sustainable ways of doing anything is a must. We’ve become predators of our environment living as if we were able to pick some goods and resources from a near and alternative planet earth. In 2020 we were projected to start living on Ecological Deb from July 8 on (That day should be moved forward as the Corona Virus has allowed the planet to get a rest of the plague that inhabits it called humanity).

We’re the one rational animal on earth, and ironically, we’re the one living irrationally. Thanks a lot for putting together this list of items in order to reduce trash generation and all the associated issues.

    Great post!

    • Alyce says:

Thanks Juan, I’m glad to hear that you’re helping to be part of the solution by using sustainable eco-friendly products where possible.

It’s a good thing to see that there are some products that know can really use and reuse again because we Lal know the cost of going to the superstore Everytime because we want to buy new stuff. I like the fact that you can give this information on the bathroom and other parts of the house reusable equipments. I would love to get those especially the kitchen ones.

    • Alyce says:

Thanks Riley, I’m glad to hear that you found some sustainable product ideas that would work in your home!

    Hello,

This article has come very compatible with the current situation where people in the whole world are struggling by the covid19 disease caused by the coronaviruses.

The content here is really important but since my childhood, I have never ever even heard of the existence of the reusable straws. But, its wonderful that I have learned about here today (thanks!). All the ideas in post are compatible with the situation and I am looking forward to getting some of them over the next couple of days via amazon home delivery!

I am appreciative for what you have provided. Thank you!

    • Alyce says:

Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m glad you were able to find some items that will work well in your home!

I think the biggest challenge we have here is to change our bad habits of using one -time products. Let’s take for example the straw. I think it is a really good idea to have reusable straw but who thinks of going out with this? Maybe women with a big handbag she can have it with her, but me who don’t use a handbag I won’t think of bringing my reusable straw with me in case I buy a beverage.

This is only an example and I know it’s not the case for everything but it’s stuff like that that it might take more time to assimilate before changing our habits.

For the razor you suggested, I’m currently using the same kind for myself and it works great, I love it! I don’t need anymore to buy razors that last just a couple of times. And I have it for many years!

I took note of your post and I will surely come back for a couple of ideas, thank you!

This a really good and timely article. The toilet paper struggle is real! Seriously, though, this current crisis has already driven it home to me just how much “stuff” we burn through on a regular basis. Some much one-time, or short-time, usage products regularly used in our home and I’m sure we’re not alone in that. Even trying to find those kinds of products to order online is difficult right now. As your article demonstrates, it would be much better to have sustainable items and, even after this difficult time passes, it will be good to have shifted our consumption habits this way. I will have to add, though, that an even better option than reusable safety razors – grow a beard!

  16. Nomfundo289 says:

Hey. Thank you for this lovely and useful article. I wasn’t quite aware of all such reusable products. I like how your content is environmentally friendly. The nature seems to be going extinct. And it’s our duty to be conservable as possible. I’ll sure check out some of the stuff that my family and I can use. And while we have to keep this social distancing because of this covid-19 disease, ordering online can sure be the best solution. The paper straw isn’t quite nice, Hahaha! You just have to make sure you drink your liquid very fast. But either than that, I’m loving every single product on your website.

    • Alyce says:

Hi there, I’m not a big fan of paper straws either, but I do like my set of glass straws. I have friends who swear by their reusable straws made of either metal or silicone (they are more portable / less fragile than the glass ones).

Hi, thanks for sharing this amazing article on sustainable products that eliminate trips to the store. I have learnt something tangible and want to share it with others (I know it will be of great help to them and also eliminate trip to the store). It will also help most especially in the time of crisis. Most of us already have kitchen towels ready to use – I just need to make sure they are close at hand so that they get more use.

    • Alyce says:

Hi Sophia, It’s definitely helpful to have a storage space for the products you need in a place that is near where they will be used.
