This is a really cool article Alyce giving us some sweet offers for National Doughnut Day. I had no idea before reading your article that the first Friday of June every year was set aside to celebrate the sweet breakfast treat.
Just my two cents but it seems to take a little bit of the spirit out of National Doughnut Day for the business to require a consumer to join their rewards program in order to take advantage of the promotion, just seems a little greedy.

I love doughnuts even though I have never heard of world doughnuts day. I can see that the world doughnuts day supports our soldiers which is a great idea because they need all the support they can get especially in those days when war is everywhere. When I was growing up, I’d never heard of full days (or months in some cases) being dedicated to certain foods like doughnuts. However, it seems that marketers have figured out that it’s a fun way to celebrate and promote some fun, so it’s pretty common now to see annual celebrations for doughnuts, coffee, pancakes, ice cream, and even burritos!

I have been once in the USA- summer of 2016, and I had luck to experience the National Doughnut Day. Dunkin’ Donuts is my top choice from the list. It is also the most popular here in Europe. We did have Dunkin’ Doughnut for a while here in Sweden, and last year they decided to close all their shops, and start selling their doughnut through gas station store, but now we can not find them anymore. We love Dunkin’ Doughnut !!

Laugh out loud. National doughnut day, I am sure all the cops are going to have a field day because they are the kings of the doughnuts. I am sure it’s going to be a fun field day too. I had never thought there was such a thing as National Dough Nut Day and found it really interested to see how many different companies in the USA there are specialising in Doughnuts. As a result of this article I did a little research for the UK and to my surprise realised that we celebrate in May and it is usually for 1 week and we raise a lot of money for charity. Unfortunately, it was cancelled this year due to Covid-19 but dates are being planned for next year.
As a health enthusiast it is really good to see people supplying gluten free options.

Here in Hawaii, Maui is the only island with Krispy Kreme, I am here on Oahu so I might even ask someone flying in from Maui if they can bring some hehe.
I doubt it though because of COVID still lingering.
All the other doughnut shops mentioned we DO-nut have here in hawaii as well, just Dunkin Doughnuts.

This made me so happy to read because I love my sweets, it also really sucked though lol. As of 2-3 years ago, I can’t do gluten anymore. I’ve found a lot of great replacements for things, but I’ll tell you what, donuts are not one of them. They are just not the same as a good old fashion fluffy donut. I have to admit that I have little and no experience with a national doughnut day! What a fun concept and a super good excuse to have a doughnut. I am sure our local bakeries have some sort of Doughnut Day surprise. Small towns often find these events happening without them, so will be on the alert to see what is about.
I think that living off the major thoroughfares of the world make things like National Doughnut Day such an unusual sounding event that we forget that you who do live where these things are par for the course forget about important times like the first day of hunting season. Friday night ball games, 4-H fares, the things that mark our days.

We had a Dunkin’ Donuts and a couple of local doughnut shops. One of my favorite things as a kid was to go to Dunkin’ Donuts, pick out a doughnut from the giant display, and sit at the counter to eat it. The excitement of the sweet treat and getting to sit at swiveling bar stools was a huge event in those days!! 🙂

That sounds so tasty, now I am craving donuts! I love donuts not supposed to eat them but I splurge and have one every now and then so I do not go on a donuts binge. I could not believe how many people are donuts crazed in this country until I worked in a donuts shop years ago. If you run out of donuts on Saturday morning people get downright angry about it! Now I live way out in the country and have no donuts shops anywhere near me. We have a Walmart and we like the donuts from there but we would love some fresh krispe kremes. Will the Krispee Kreme website deliver to my door while they are fresh? Have they teamed with a delivery company? Seems everyone is startling to go this route. We are thinking of celebrating donut day! I love holidays, especially when you get sweets!

Okay, before coming upon this site I had never heard of a National Doughnut Day, but all of a sudden I have a craving for some Krispy Kreme! Sounds like a fun day, only I wonder if they will have a smaller showing this year since it is right on the heels of Planet Lockdown. In fact, some places may still be at that point in June. Omg, National doughnut day is right around the corner. I live in NYC and I wish that there is a Krispy Kream location, with the legit store here. Having the warm and see it made in front of you is everything. We have it but it is in the train station so it doesn’t count.

Walmart dough is one of the best doughnuts I have tasted and it is something that always increase my appetite each time I take it. I don’t really know much about others listed in this article but I’m just okay with Walmart doughnuts. I love taking it together with my hot coffee.

I love Krispy Kreme donuts. I saw that they are coming out with the yeast version that they started with. When I was a kid, the donuts were twice the size they are now. I remember asking my wife’s father why Krispy Kreme donuts tasted so good. He said it was due to the sweat dropping in the tub from the guy stirring the dough. Not sure that is true, but they are good. Nice article. I will for the June deals.
Hi Michael, When the Krispy Kreme stores / restaurants are open near me, they often have people lined up to watch the glazed donuts rolling through the open kitchen. The “hot doughnuts now” sign indicates that the a hot, fresh treats are ready — it’s a sign that can be hard to pass up!
