What a fun and informative roundup of National Doughnut Day offers! I had no idea the celebration had such a meaningful history tied to The Salvation Army and the Doughnut Lassies of World War I. It’s great to see so many national and local businesses participating with free donuts, discounts, contests, and rewards for customers. The variety of deals makes it easy for everyone to join the celebration, whether they prefer classic glazed donuts, creative specialty flavors, or even making their own treats at home. I also appreciate the inclusion of donut-themed gifts and recipes, which adds an extra layer of fun beyond just grabbing a free pastry. Thanks for putting together such a comprehensive guide that helps readers discover the best deals and enjoy one of the sweetest food holidays of the year.

Isn’t it interesting how some of these silly-sounding “holidays” can have really fascinating origins? I hope you were able to snag a few of your favorite flavors for the occasion this year!

First of all, I didn’t even know there was a national doughnut day. We certainly don’t have it here in South Africa, but what a good excuse to enjoy a doughnut. Nothing better in the morning than a fresh cream doughnut, and I would start my day like this everyday if it wasn’t such a fattening food.

The only franchise that we have here is Krispy Creme and I wonder if they observe national doughnut day here in South Africa. I will definitely look out for any specials they have for next year 1st of June.

Hi Michel, hello in South Africa and thanks for checking in! The national donut holiday in the USA brings a lot of fun to the first weekend of June and feels like kicking off our summer break in the sweetest possible way. Enjoy!

It’s always exciting to learn about new holidays and traditions, especially when they involve delicious treats like doughnuts! National Doughnut Day is a fun way to celebrate this beloved pastry and all the joy it brings. While it’s understandable that your taste buds may have changed over time, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy doughnuts without overindulging in sugar. Many bakeries offer healthier options, such as baked doughnuts or those made with alternative flours and sweeteners. If you’re feeling creative, you could even try making your own doughnuts at home using healthier ingredients. Regardless of how you choose to celebrate National Doughnut Day, it’s always a great opportunity to indulge in a sweet treat and enjoy the little things in life.

    Hello Alyce,

While I was looking at the donuts offered by the duck, my youngest grandchildren came to me. You would probably have had a great time seeing us!

The chocolate donuts, naturally, and the maple drizzle sandwich had the greatest success. For me, Smokey Bones was more attractive. If possible, we would order immediately. Unfortunately, I am too far away, in Eastern Europe.

It was a pleasure to read this article about donuts. You have created something beautiful, with interesting products and information.

Good luck with everything you do.

    All the best

    Daniel

Hi, Daniel, thanks for sharing! Maple bacon donuts are amazing, and if you do get the chance to try one, I highly recommend it!
